Nintendo History
Nintendo was founded in 1889 as a playing card company. It later expanded into various business ventures before focusing on video games in the 1970s. The company released its first home console, the Color TV-Game, in 1977. Nintendo's most successful early console was the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), released in 1985, which helped revitalize the video game industry after the crash of 1983.
